What's nu?

Well, by the time you read this, I have most likely graduated from college! Yay for Becca! Everyone keeps asking me about my plans for the summer. My response has consistently been that this is not my summer, this is the rest of my life. I no longer have summers, and I'm ok with that. As of right now, there are a few job prospects, but none of them are particularly appealing. Then again, if the money is right, I could be swayed. In July I will be moving out of my Lake Forest oasis into my own place in Buffalo Grove. I got a couch, dish set, china set, glassware, and stemware at a rummage sale to help furnish my new place.

Since December of 2004, I have been working for ANAD - The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders in fundraising and technology. Basically, I am their computer guru. I'm also still freelancing and really enjoy working with my tutees. They are a great bunch and I love the chance to go down to the city to meet them.

I am welcoming with open arms the opportunity to enjoy my evenings again. No more homework! No more papers! As Peter would say, and there was much rejoicing. I cannot wait to lay around the house (for the entire week that it lasts) doing whatever suits my fancy. Working world, here I come! I also can't wait to be financially stable. As much as I love my jobs (most of the time), it's exhausting to constantly run from one place to another. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work only when I want to (outside of my full-time job) as opposed to feeling like I have to. I wonder what this is going to be like? Perhaps my room will stay clean on a more constant basis. Okay, so that's probably unlikely, but I'm hoping other good things come of my newfound freedom. Who knows, I might actually begin to update this site more than once every season. Well, my friends and fans, I hope that all is well with you and will do my best to keep in touch.

About Me

You know, I started this website in the summer of 2001, which is longer ago than I care to think about. I think it's about time that I changed the description of myself to accurately reflect the changes I've been through in the past three years. Well, to begin, I am from the San Francisco, Bay Area. I lived there until I was 17 years old and decided to take a leave of my senses and go to school in Chicago. All in all, I throughly enjoy life in the midwest, except for the weather. I suppose I must have enjoyed it at some point, as is evidenced by my vignette about snow.

I am now a Lake Forest College graduate with a BA in American Studies. I still plan to go to either law school or film school, though definitely not both, at least not simultaneously. I worked in television while in London and did some interesting work prior to that. I am also a giant comptuer geek, as I suppose is evidenced by my website. I have finally brought myself into OS X with the website, and am now using Dreamweaver.

I also sing! Since June of 2002, I have been singing with the critically acclaimed Pippins. In January of 2004, we had our first 30 minute concert, the longest in Pippins history. This was a major achievement for us and seemed to go very well.

Sela the Silver Bullet had to go, as I could not begin to afford her. Now I have a 97 Black Honda Civic with a lot of miles on it. On the other hand, it is my car.

Since I began college in 2000, I have been on Oprah (check out the second picture in the gallery), have become a published poet, and have had three plays produced. I've had two original designs used in a national corporation and a school-wide publication. I've done loads of research in various subjects and have travelled the globe. It's been a bumpy ride, but the best stories always are. I wish peace to all and the best in 2005!
