Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before
meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right
person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often
times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see
the one which has been opened for us.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch
and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling
like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose
it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been
missing until it arrives.
Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that
they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just
wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be
content it grew in yours.
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to
like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a
lifetime to forget someone.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth;
even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile
because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem
bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that
you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for
real!
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be
what you want to be, because you have only one life and one
chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough
trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human,
enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of
everything; they just make the most of everything that comes
along their way.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a
tear.When you were born, you were crying and everyone around
you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're
the one who is smiling and everyone around you is
crying.

True Friend
"This guy's walking down the street when he falls in a
hole. The walls are so steep he can't get out. "A doctor
passes by and the guy shouts up, 'Hey you. Can you help me
out?' The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in
the hole and moves on. "Then a priest comes along and the
guy shouts up, 'Father, I'm down in this hole can you help
me out?' The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in
the hole and moves on. "Then a friend walks by, 'Hey, Joe,
it's me can you help me out?' And the friend jumps in the
hole. Our guy says, 'Are you stupid? Now we're both down
here.' The friend says, 'Yeah, but I've been down here
before and I know the way out.'"
Some of you have been the person at the end of this story,
and for that I thank you all. I hope I have helped you all,
and I want everyone to know that I will be there in time of
need.

Are you a Reason, a
Season, or a Lifetime?
People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a
lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know
what to do for each person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON. . .
It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have
come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with
guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or
spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are!
They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then,
without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient
time, this person will say or do something to bring the
relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up
has been answered. And now it is time to move on.
When people come into your life for a SEASON...
It is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you
laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done. They
usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it!
It is real! But, only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation... Your job is to accept the lesson, love the
person, and put what you have learned to use in all other
relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love
is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life.

FRIENDS
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a
kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was
Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I
thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his
books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd."
I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game
with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my
shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of
kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his
books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the
dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the
grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this
terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So,
I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for
his glasses, I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his
glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should
get lives." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There
was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that
showed real gratitude.
I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he
lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him
why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to
private school before now. I would have never hung out with
a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and
I carried his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.
I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with
me and my friends. He said yes.
We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the
more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.
Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack
of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna
really build some serious muscles with this pile of books
everyday!" He just laughed and handed me half the books.
Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.
When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle
decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke. I knew that
we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a
problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for
business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian
of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it
wasn't me having to get up there and speak.
Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of
those guys that really found himself during high school. He
filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more
dates than me and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I
was jealous. Today was one of those days. I could see that
he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the
back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at
me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and
smiled. "Thanks," he said. As he started his speech, he
cleared his throat, and began.
Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it
through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your
siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends. I am here
to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the
best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a
story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told
the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill
himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned
out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and
was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave
me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved
me from doing the unspeakable." I heard the gasp go through
the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about
his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and
smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did
I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your
actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's
life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each
other's lives to impact one another in some way. Look for
God in others.

Woman
When I was in my younger days, I weighed a few pounds
less,
I needn't hold my tummy in to wear a belted dress.
But now that I am older, I've set my body free;
There's comfort of elastic where once my waist would be.
Inventor of those high-heeled shoes my
feet have not forgiven;
I have to wear a nine now, but used to wear a seven.
And how about those pantyhose-- They're
sized by weight, you see,
So how come when I put them on the crotch is at my
knees?
I need to wear these glasses, as the
prints were getting smaller;
And it wasn't very long ago I know that I was taller.
Though my hair has turned to gray and my
skin no longer fits,
On the inside, I'm the same old me, just the outside's
changed a bit.
On a positive note...
I've learned that no matter what happens,
or how bad it seems Today, life does go on, and it will be
better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot
about a person by the way He/she handles these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree
lights.
I've learned that regardless of your
relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when
they're gone from your life.
I've learned that making a "living" is
not the same thing as making a "life."
I've learned that life sometimes gives
you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go
through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need
to be able to throw something back.
I've learned that whenever I decide
something with an open heart, I usually make the right
decision.

I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day you should
reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just
a friendly pat on the back.

THE BRICK
A young and successful executive was
traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast
in his new Jaguar.
He was watching for kids darting out from
between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw
something.
As his car passed, no children
appeared.
Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's
side door!
He slammed on the brakes and backed the
Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown.
The angry driver then jumped out of the
car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a
parked car shouting,
"What was that all about and who are
you?
Just what the heck are you doing?
That's a new car and that brick you threw
is going to cost a lot of money.
Why did you do it?"
The young boy was apologetic.
"Please, mister...please,
I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to
do," He pleaded.
"I threw the brick because no one else
would stop..." With tears dripping down his face and off his
chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked
car.
"It's my brother," he said.
"He rolled off the curb and fell out of
his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."
Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned
executive,
"Would you please help me get him back
into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for
me."
Moved by his words, the driver tried to
swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat.
He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy
back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief
and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts.
A quick look told him everything was
going to be okay.
"Thank you and may God bless you,"
the grateful child told the stranger.
Too shook up for words, the man simply
watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the
sidewalk toward their home
It was a long, slow walk back to the
Jaguar.
The damage was very noticeable, but the
driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He
kept the dent there to remind him of this message
"Don't go through life so fast that
someone has to throw a brick at you to get your
attention!"
God whispers in our souls and speaks to
our heart s. Sometimes when we don't have time to
listen,
He has to throw a brick at us.
It's our choice to listen or not.
